It's Crunch Time...

Knitting crunch time that is.
That feeling you get when you know you're knitting projects are
not going to be finished
in time for Christmas and you start to think...
"perhaps I can delay seeing peeps, for just one more day"!
"I only need one more day"
hehehe, if you knit, you surely know what I am talking about.

The purple hat I am knitting will not be done in time for Christmas.
I am mailing this gift so it will be especially late.

 This is a Donnie Hat
but I am turning it "slouchy donnie"
in order to use up most of the second hank.

I really like this simple pattern
and I will finish it off with a pom pom for this special lady.

I also made a bunch of these stars.
All you need is some left over yarn, I used Alpaca,
hand cut cardboard stars and a glue stick.

My wonderful knitting teacher Leanne
sent me the idea from Pinterest.
They are so easy to make and a great way to use up
leftover yarn.
The yarn is suppose to be wrapped around the star
kinda' helter skelter, willy nilly...
not mine,
why am I so damn "articulate", calculated and predictable.
I'm 57, not much chance of me changing now!!

I am joining Ginny at Small Things
for
Yarn Along

Love the purple yarn and the stitch pattern! Perfect for a slouchy beanie! And those stars... what a clever and simple idea for ornaments -- and for using up pretty yarn scraps!

Love those beautiful stars! I cross stitched ornaments this year and just finished the stitching tonight, still need to assemble them! Think I'll make it! My husband says I really need to start earlier. Now, why didn't I think of that! :)

I wasn't able to get all my hand made things made so I had to go out and buy last minute gifts, maybe next year :) Your hat is coming along very nicely and I am sure she will be happy to get it whenever it arrives. Neat idea for the stars gives it a great feel of warmth and always good to have projects to use up that last bit of yarn. I like how you couldn't wrap them all willy nilly... yep it is useless to try and change at our age :) Wishing you wonderful Christmas!!
