Being Different
I'm different, much different from most of my friends and family.
My best friend is my husband and I'm a home-body at heart.
I have a sprinkle of geek, I don't drink, smoke or like to shop.
When I enjoy something, I become obsessed.
In a lake with 100's of other swans...
this swan was so obviously different.
It was large, larger then some of the white swans,
it appeared to be full grown,
the feathers caught the light beautifully.
There was not one other swan with those pretty tan feathers.
In the hundreds that were swimming there,
not one other swan looked like this.
Any thoughts?!

It is also very beautiful, Debbie. Their difference got your attention. Handsome plumage !!
Good weekend.
a kiss.
He is Beautiful! And perhaps he drinks a little too much coffee. It comes out in the feathers, you know. ;)
Maybe it's a juvenile, since juvies are often bigger than the adult birds. But I believe I like the coffee analogy! LOL
i think he's a juvie, too.
i almost busted out laughing at your self-described 'homebody' term. hahahahaha!!! you love to go more than anyone i know! now, I'M a homebody! i can barely force myself into town to get groceries. :)
He's gorgeous -- maybe he turns color in the fall! We're all different, and we're all unique, but we're all beautiful works of art. Vive la difference!
I've never seen one like that either! So very pretty. You may like to stay home, but I'm glad you get out and take such beautiful photo's and share them.
I'm a homebody, that's for sure, and I love it. :)
xoxo
Beautiful photos! The blue water makes a great background, too! I agree about it being a juvenile. They usually begin to molt into their white plumage by mid-winter.
Very beautiful photos. I like how the blue water as background created the whole soothing atmosphere.
It was the juvenile that I assured, but why there were others gone, to another land. Excellent images.
Yes he is a juvenile Swan. Great shots. Have a great weekend.
Too much chocolate from tourists?
Different is beautiful! You go, beautiful swan. And beautiful photographer!
Gorgeous shots of the juvenile swan.
It's a lovely looking swan. Great pictures.
Debbie, I always thought the juvies were the beige in color.. Not positive though.. I would think a juvie would be smaller..it could have had a growth spurt, lol. Great photos. Thank you for linking up, have a happy weekend!
He's lovely but I don't know what kind he is. Great photos of him. I think we are all different in our own way from everyone else. That sounds like an oxymoron but I do think it's true. I have always felt very "different."
I am looking and am still searching.
Where is her best friend and her husband?
Mrs Swan, you told a part of your story.
What a gorgeous creature, Debbie!
Handsome fellow , gorgeous really . I with Montana I think its a juvenile swan just a "different
' juvenille;)
'
I concur, it's probably a juvenile. Sometimes the juveniles are bigger than the adults. It's that way with Bald Eagles. I do wonder why he's the only one.
I won't guess as to why it was different, but I think he proves a point. Different can be very beautiful.
It has to do with what they eat. WE have some pinkish coloured swans here. They are gorgeous shots Debbie!
My thought is that you caught the picture of a beauty.
Different is special in many ways. It is fun to see photos of this unique colored Swan. I might do a little research of this one.
Blessings!
What a lovely swan Debbie!
Gorgeous pictures!Maybe its a juvenile but still its so preety!
Dimi...
Seeing yourself as this swan, are you??? Yes, often myself, too ... another beautiful photographic essay, my dear friend!
Magnificent!!! What a beauty!
Different is good :O)
He may be different, but he's beautiful!
I'm different, too. I am definitely a nerd. :-)
Hmmmm....nope. Never saw anything like it. But I do appreciate his individuality...and yours as well.
Well that was one beautiful swan and so unique with it's coloring.
