"Seal"ing the Deal!!

That's right kids, I finally got to see those amazing
Christmas Seals in Sandy Hook!!
These Seals appeared on Christmas Day,
and will stay the winter, leaving around mid-March.
They don't always hang around on this sand bar,
last weekend when I went, they were no where to be found.
No sightings had been reported that day.

Here two are swimming about and seem to be coming in
for a closer look at all of us.
When they jump up out of the water, they look like baby dolphins.

About 20 in all, it was an amazing sight to witness.
I think about nature and wildlife all the time,
I try to express my feelings with words, but I am not sure it is possible.

With all the progress and commercial growth in the world today,
I am awestruck with natural sightings such as this.

An amazing walk on the bay beach, on a beautiful winter day.
Life is good and I was over come with joy!!

Life is good. And your joy reminds me, day by day, to dwell in that place with that perspective. Your joy is contagious! I saw hundreds of seals on coastal rocks in San Diego years ago...it really was a sight to see. And I, too, have turned to the natural, created world these last years and found so much comfort and inspiration!! Who knew there was a nature gal living in this citified suburbanite!!??!

How absolutely thrilling! I didn't know the seals overwintered there. What a marvelous experience getting to see them! I saw one seal once in the "wild"...I was walking along a desolate Pacific beach with an older girl long ago and we saw a head pop up out of the water, watching us. We both said, "Is that a DOG?" We kept watching, and the seal suddenly flapped up out of the water and dove deeper. It was truly thrilling!
