Road Trip

Sunday, the hubs and I took a road trip...
Destination, Sandy Hook, New Jersey, to see the Christmas Seals.

hero
This image of 100 Christmas Seals laying on a sandbar is not mine.
It has been a constant reminder for me to "go to Sandy Hook"
and see the seals.
I have been hearing about them, seeing pictures of them,
I have been salivating to photograph them.
I had grand dreams of how many I would see.
Would I be able to count all of them??

Well I was, I saw zero. I spoke with the park ranger,
none were spotted on Sunday, only one had been spotted on Saturday.

Drat!!

It was just that kinda day...I about wet my pants when I spotted this...

Osprey Seagull sitting in this big ole' Osprey nest.

Long story short, we had an amazing afternoon and I got some
awesome images of the beautiful winter landscapes.

Lot's more tomorrow!!

I'm sorry you didn't get to see the seals, but looks like you made the best of it. Love that last picture of the ice in the water. It looks cold!

Ahhhhhh, you had about as much luck with the seals as I did with my hawk watch. But it was fun anyway, and I'm glad you had a good day! The seagull in the osprey nest is a great catch!

Sorry that you were able to see the seals. The seagull invading the Osprey nest was a great find. Loved the last shot of the ocean and the ice. So cold looking and yet strangely beautiful.

You do capture a lot of wonderful pictures of the winter landscape. I also love the fun road trips you take. Sorry that you didn't see the seals.
By the way would you mind if I use one of your bird pictures for a post I am planning.
Blessings!
