Having Lunch

I spread out a handful of seeds, on the edge of the deck rail.
This beautiful Song Sparrow came and enjoyed every bit.
 
His own little, private buffet of seeds...
 
no other birds came and no one bothered him.
 
No songs to sing today, perhaps he was too busy filling his belly.
 
He posed for one more picture, then split!!
 
I love all the feather detail, in these pretty close ups!

Great shots! I'm glad he had the buffet to himself so he could relax and enjoy.

We call our backyard the Barbour Buffet because we have so many deer that come by to eat whatever.
