I Love New Jersey

I love the Jersey Shore...

I live in Central New Jersey, Ocean County, to be exact.

I am right in the center of everything this beautiful state has to offer.

And, we offer a lot.

 

We are NOT The House Wives of New Jersey

We are not "juice heads" from The Jersey Shore.

 

New Jersey caters to the outdoors and nature.

To our beautiful beaches, parks, hiking and biking trails.

 

We always have amazing fairs and festivals.

Without leaving this state, there is always something amazing to do or see.

 

Last night, the hubs and I were in Ocean Grove and Asbury Park.

For the usual suspects, dinner, a bike ride and a walk along the ocean.

 

From the boards, looking out to the Pier in Ocean Grove,

it started getting a little cloudy.

 

But I was not going to let a little rain spoil my ride!!

 

The boardwalk is wide, the Victorian homes are gorgeous,

and that sky is getting really dark. We moved forward.

 

The moon was full, the view was gorgeous!!

It's a little silly to write that, I'm pretty sure you guys know us.

They were having a bon fire on the beach in Asbury Park,
do you see how cool this place is.
There were lot's of drummers and dancers on the right of this picture..

Confections of a Rock Star

Where do I start??

I love cupcakes, I am a bit of a cupcake connoisseur.

I bake them, I fill them, I frost them, I decorate them.

But my favorite part is eating them. I consider my palate to be golden.

You all know how much I love Asbury Park,

Asbury Rocks!!

Well there's a new little bake shop in town and it rocks as well.

Confections of a Rock Star

Kimmee, pictured here with none other then me,

is the owner/baker/rock star drummer.

Talk about a lot of hats.

Kimmee's drums help set the stage for the decor in this awesome bake shop.

Focusing primarily on cupcakes, these cupcakes are the best I have ever eaten.

Day Trips!!

The hubs and I take a lot of day trips

and one nighters...(oh, does that sound naughty??)

 

You know what I mean, 2 days and one night away from the homestead.

 

In New Jersey, there are so many places we can go,

just for the day, and have a wonderful time.

 

This past Sunday we drove to Lambertville, New Hope

and Peddlers Village, in Pennsylvania.

Three distinctly different towns,
this entire area is about 1 hour from our home.

 

It's a beautiful spot, the weather was perfect and we had a super fun time.

 

It's a huge shopping area and I am not much of a shopper.

We wandered around and found some beautiful walking trails.

 

In Lambertville, we found a beautiful patch of morning glories,

 

in a gorgeous shade of purple.

 

I think these berries were part of the plant,

it looks as though they were hand painted by someone who loves color.

 

 

There wasn't anywhere to put the camera,

 so we could get a picture together.

 

We had the same problem at the Delaware River...

 

 this bridge connects Lambertville to New Hope.

 

Once we got to Peddlers Village,

 

 We found a spot for the camera and used the timer.

 

Finally, a picture together!!

 

I loved this windmill against the pretty blue sky,

 

and this gorgeous Koi Pond, loaded with fish!!

Cool In The Pool!!

I know it's a bird bath, but I am sure my birds think it's a pool!

 

They have so much fun in the bird bath,
and it's so entertaining to watch them.

 

If you don't have a bird bath, get one...
you will never regret it.

 

I took a lot of pictures at the bird bath on August 22nd,

We are still in Norway

Aren't these barns great!!

There is something about this image that I really love.

Neat, clean & tidy, that unusual green, what a pretty place.

I had some late bloomers this year.

 

I took these pictures on August 22nd,

some were just beginning to open,

 

others on the same plant, were just about there.

 

This one was gorgeous, stretching for the sun!!

 

Only nature could provide something so beautiful,

something so perfect!!

Look Who Turned 54,

ummm, that would be me, the girl on the left!

 

Wednesday was my birthday and I had such an amazing day!

 

The hubs surprised me with this,

 

the "Newest iPad" and I absolutely love it!!

 

We had such a fun day out and about

and ended up in Asbury Park, one of my favorite seashore area's.

 

We had dinner at Moonstruck,

 a renovated three-story Victorian house overlooking Wesley Lake in Asbury Park.

 

I had Pesto Pasta with fresh diced tomatoes and pine nuts! YUM!

 

Chuck had this super yummy chicken with

potato wedges and fresh veggies!

 

Did we have desert you ask?? You know we did...

 

I had the black & white creme brulee, served warm,

 

Chuck had pumpkin cheesecake.

 

It was a beautiful day and a gorgeous evening at the beach.

I had the best day EVER!

 

Now, on to my iPad, my new favorite toy!!
