A Rural Hop with A Friday Fence!!

I am a spoiled rotten Jersey Girl.
I don't wear cowboy boots.
I get manicures and pedicures, regularly.
I hate to cook and I'm not sure I have ever seen a "chicken",
except when it's been baked, fried or barbecued!!

But I do love a party and I don't like being left out,

so here goes...

I love horses,

and they seem to love me back!!

These beautiful horses live in Howell, New Jersey
not too far from home.
We pass the riding stable where they live often.

I took these pictures on Sunday,
the owners of the farm were very nice to let me roam around,
and snap freely!!

This horse was very friendly,

with a beautiful coat!!
Is that what you call it or is it fur?? I have no idea!!

These were gorgeous but I had to take the picture into the sun.

This guy was out with a passenger, they came in just as I was leaving!!

Note to self, add horseback riding to bucket list!!

Sharing with Friday Fences
and

Please hop around, it's sure to be a fun time!!

I guess I am just a cross between city girl and country girl....I have ridden and owned a horse most of my life except right now so I love love love horses...But I love my pedicures, etc. too....and I love boots....See I told yo I was in never never land.....

Well back to your post...these pictures are incredible...by the way, the pictures with the horse's ears back...that is a sign they are not happy....if perked up they are listening and checking you out so it looks like you had a wide variety of moods going on during your adventure.....

I hope you will put horse riding on your bucket list; they are the most amazing animals.....If you scroll down the right side of my blog you will see pictures of me at different times in my life riding.....

Love these pictures, girlfriend....

From my youth I love horses. During summerholidays helping in stable's to clean up. But I am also a little bit scared. I wanted to ride a horse my whole life but still did not. I am waiting for the moment there is horse with a remote controle that they don't go to run when you don't want them to. Fantastic photographs.
Wish you a lovely day

Yes, a beautiful coat, but could use a longer mane... they need that hair to protect them from the elements!

Beautiful horses! =)

I love horses and had many to ride growing up on the farm. Hubby and I had a couple of horses when we lived on a bit bigger acreage than we do now. But, I never wore cowboy boots...they hurt my feet! And I love pedicures too! I think you should definitely put horseback riding on your bucket list. Be prepared, tho, for getting saddle sore! Loved your photos, Debbie!

Beautiful photos Debbie. I'm so glad you joined in with Rural Thursday! If you ever are passing through, you stop by and I'll let you pet one of my chickens ;-)

I wish I could share your love or horses. I guess I have had too many bad experiences with them.

And I had more to say. But must have hit enter too soon. Anyhow, I do appreciate a good picture of horses, and admit I have taken some myself, and your pictures are beautiful.

I see my guilt trip worked! :P

Wonderful horses and photographs, Debbie. When I saw the saddle, I wondered if you were going to plan a horseback ride soon.

Thank you for linking up to Rural Thursday -- I knew you had something to share.

Aren't they beautiful?????????

Trouble is, I'm afraid of them. I mean, I guess because they seem so BIG and powerful... I am simply afraid to approach a horse.

-sigh-

And it's never good, to be afraid of any animal, and approach it. It can certainly "tell" or "smell" it or something.

-sigh-

So I'll never ride. But my daughter-in-law and granddaughter do. :-)

We are very rural, but have never had horses. My grandma had one years ago (she lived across the field), but the thing was so mean nobody ever rode it, and it bit me when I tried to go across the field. So the horse went bye-bye, and none took its place.

I do love horses, though, they are usually so friendly and beautiful.

I think horses are such spiritual animals. It seems you can drown in those big soulful eyes. Yes, it is a coat. Beautiful pictures...beautiful horses.

Gorgeous horses - all very friendly looking too.
I did go horse riding when I was about 10 but never since. I do remember it gave me a sore butt though lol.

Well, it isn't fur. ha ha. I definitely recommend riding lessons. Warning: Before you know it, you will want to buy one...

I also have pedicures and manicures often. My husband likes to see me take care of myself. He says I a a beautiful woman and should not let myself go down. He says that because I am a stay at home wife. LOL.
I do like to get dirty doing yard work. I don't mind painting or picking up a hammer. I don't cook alot of meals, we go out to eat often. Alot more than we should.
Keep pampering yourself and taking those amazing pictures. Your shots are gorgeous.
TFS.

As a little city girl, I dreamed of owning my own beautiful black horse with a star on his head--that only I could ride. :-) Thankfully, at the age of 16, we moved to a town where I could have a horse. Didn't care about driving, just wanted that horse! So many glorious hours on my little Pinto. :-)

Definitely add to your bucket list...it's a great experience & clearly those horses liked you!

What's not to love? :)

Beautiful shots. The lighting was perfect and the colors are amazing.

I'm just glad you're not like one of those jersey shore "ladies" the country seems to have become so fond of. We need to get you a reality show so you can restore the good name of the Jersey shore! These shots are just beautiful!

I love horses too! Growing up in suburban Philly I was 100% confident I could keep one in our one-car garage! haha. Aren't they the most beautiful creatures with the most soulful eyes? :)

I've only ever owned one horse, and I find myself thinking of her often these days. Your photos brought her to life one more time, and I could just smell the sweat on her back once the saddle came off. Thank you.

These are some really wonderful shots! I love the light on their faces in those first couple of shots.
When I was in high school I got thrown off a horse once and only rode one time after that. :(

Great Shots! I will be at the farm Saturday afternoon if you want to swing by and get a tour. I should be there after 1:00. I'll be the Jersey girl wearing cowgirl boots, cooking on the wood burning stove. What's a manicure? hee hee.

I don't do shoes...manicures, pedicures...or nail polish.

Boots, jeans and always a hat. Own too many horses too! Oh...the horses wear the shoes ;~)

That's what makes the world such a great place; individuality. Amen.

You found a nice group of horses to photograph; nice of the folks to let you spend time there. Well done!

Aw Debbie, what's not to love, even if you are a city girl! The horses are so darling, and the shots are awesome!

Very nice! I love horses, too, but don't know much about them except they are fun to look at. I have ridden a few times though and have enjoyed it.

Love the expression of the last horse! Thanks for visiting my blog, I still would like to know the name of your fabulous flower on the blog header picture, is it a clematis??
