Christmas on the Potomac, Part 2

I have decided it would be best to break the details of this trip in to several posts,
I could never do it justice in just one entry.

Let's start with Day One...

We arrived at the Gaylord National Hotel on the
Potomac River in Maryland,
on Sunday the 18th around 2 p.m.

Our room was ready

and we quickly settled in!!

This was the daytime view from the balcony of our room,

this was the view at night!!
Breathtaking, right??

We ate at McCloones right on the Inner Harbor.
This was my dinner, steak and mashed potatoes, smothered in mushrooms and frizzled onions.
The meal was enormous, I was only able to eat half.

Chuck had this pasta dish, with chicken and bacon.
It was good, mine was better!!

After dinner we went for a walk along the National Harbor,
the Christmas Tree was spectacular,
60 feet tall, 20,000 lights!!

One of many self portraits...

Today was amazing, I know tomorrow is even better!!

Good night, sleep tight.....you two have a busy day tomorrow!!

Wonderful trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice to spend time in a city, at Christmas Holiday Time!!! :-)

"Happy, happy Christmas, that can win us back to the delusions of our childish days; that can recall to the old man the pleasures of his youth; and transport the sailor and the traveller, thousands of miles away, back to his own fire-side and his quiet home!"
~~Charles Dickens,
"The Pickwick Papers", 1836

WOW!!! That night scene from your balcony is marvellous. Even though I am not hungry right now that steak looks so good. Looking forward to more beauty.

I want to go there! My husband is retiring this summer and we are ready to begin traveling. This just whets my appetite...and I just know I would've eaten the whole thing! How do you get your self portraits? I know you are not carrying a tripod around!
