Christmas on the Potomac, Part 6

o.k....lets' face it, as wonderful as this trip was,
it's time to wrap this gig up!!

This post will contain all the crap beautiful photo's that did not make it in
to all the prior posts!!

Get ready, it's going to be a long one!!

The Awakening
On February 8, 2008, this statue was dismantled and moved to the
National Harbor Resort on the Potomac River in Maryland.

The statue consists of five separate aluminum pieces
buried in the ground, giving the impression of a distressed giant
attempting to free himself from the ground.

The left hand and right foot barely protrude, while the bent left leg and knee jut into the air.

The bearded face, with the mouth in mid-scream,

struggles to emerge from the earth.

I do believe that Chuck will grow up....some day.

Chuck and I relaxing
with the National Harbor in the background.

We take all these pictures ourselves.
Always looking for a structure, to place the camera on.
It's so much better then smiling at strangers!!

I think these benches follow me wherever I go...

and a purple wreath, are you kidding me,
someone knew I was coming!!

We had the best time ever!!

WoW! That sculpture is amazing. I had no idea from the first picture how large it was. I'm glad you included pics of yourselves for comparison's sake. And I love that purple wreath. Great find!

I always wondered if you had a stranger take all these pics of you two. I'm still trying to figure out how to use the timer on my camera.....?
Love these pics. I've commented before, but the love between you two and the joy you share is so evident in your photos!

Love it! What a cool idea for a statue! I love that you got the wider shot of the whole giant, and then posed with the pieces...makes you realize how big he is!
