In the last week, we have worn coats, shorts, we used the heat, used the air conditioning
had several freeze warning and days where it was just too hot to be outside.
Did we have Spring yet?
We heeded the garden center warnings not to plant anything in the ground,
We heeded the garden center warnings not to plant anything in the ground,
but after dragging the annual plants in and out of the garage for a week,
and with temperatures expected in the high 80's next week...
Wednesday, "we" finally decided to pull the trigger and plant some of the annuals.
And as always, you know when I say "we", I mean Chuck.
My role is to supervise and take pictures, a role I fulfill easily.
So here he is in action, I'm not sure I know a happier soul.
The hubs says preparation is key.
It takes him longer to "set up" then it takes to plant the flowers.
And having the right tools is key.
He uses the DeWalt Power Tool, with the auger attachment to make the holes.
I don't really think that is completely necessary, they are tiny holes,
but it makes him happy so I always tell him what a great idea I think it is.
Wednesday was a really beautiful day,
and it no time at all...
this little garden was done!
It started as a small ring around the mailbox post and grows about one foot each year.
If you have a home and you love to garden, you understand that,
even though your not really sure how it happens.
oh and just in case you were wondering, these are Vinca's,
and I plopped the plant in the back of the mailbox, those are Impatients.
See there, I did help!
See there, I did help!
Stay tuned, there is lots more planting to do and I am so over complaining about all the animals.
