Saturday Critters #615

I've had a busy week and I have been so tired...
out just for a drive I saw a few critters to photograph and share.

I stumbled upon what seemed to be a Cormorant Family, 2 large and 2 small.
They were pretty far out but using my zoom, I was able to get some decent pictures.

This looks like the Juvenile Double-Crested Cormorant in my book.
I have zero expertise with these.

The main reason we stopped was so I could take pictures of the Egrets.
They were so far away, I knew the pictures would not be good...but I was shocked they were still here.

I snapped a picture of this duck, I was not sure if it was a hybrid or a
American Black Duck
It had the black feathers outlining the beak so I decided on the black duck.
Please let me know what you think.
This is a lousy post...I will try to do better next week.

Sharing today's images with Eileen at

Hello Debbie,
I enjoyed seeing your birds and photos. I like the Cormorants and the Egret. The duck could be a hybrid mallard? Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.

I don't know much about ducks apart from seeing the regular kind but this is a beauty. It also always fascinates me how a cormorant swims with its body almost submerged. Great photos Debbie!
