We have been getting out a little more, on Saturday we went for a ride in
Spring Lake to see the Seward Johnson exhibit.
It was a bit like a scavenger hunt, exploring around town to find the 16 statues.
We found all but two,
and one of the two I would like to go back and look for...a loving couple underneath an umbrella.

The stores were handing out these nice brochures.
The artist Seward Johnson was born in New Jersey.
"It's easy sometimes to forget the simple things that give us pleasure.
If we open our eyes, life is marvelous.
The human spirit triumphs, if only for moments a day.
I try to have my work call attention to those moments."

Seaward Johnson is a genius. I truly love each and every one of these. Hope you are well. Hugs B
Thank you for sharing each photograph of the display. We have a place in Hamilton NJ called Grounds For Sculpture which features some of his work. I always love ti.. Beautiful post.
The couple under the umbrella are at the train station. Buddy thinks every statue is real!!!! He goes up to them and wags his tail then looks confused when they don't pet him.
Dear Debbie!
Seward Johnson has created wonderful sculptures. The artist's works are known all over the world. Thank you for seeing them on your blog.

Hello Debbie :=)
Amazing lifelike statues. The sculpturer is a true artist. Congrats on finding so many of them. It must have been fun! :=)
I love things like this... so simple, but so wonderful. And I have to say that I appreciate this type of Art so much more than modern sculptures that look like twisted pieces of iron, etc. I know they must have their worth, but my eyes don't see it. Thanks for sharing, Debbie.
Wow! These are amazing.
Thank you for sharing them here.
All the best Jan
The guy sleeping on the bench looks so lifelike! We have something similar here but they are all buffalo statues.
REALLY NICE! His talent is stunning. Linda in Kansas

So glad we get to go on your little trips with you and you take such great pictures:)
How wonderful to have reminders all around to not forget the little things that can bring us so much pleasure, he does a wonderful job on these, I bet it was fun getting out and searching for them, glad you are feeling better.
That really is amazing! I would probably think some of these were real when I walked up to them...especially those on the benches! I'm glad you are getting out more. Take care and keep feeling better!
Wonderful photos! I saw his sculptures on display years ago at a botanical garden in Florida. I was as taken with those as I am with these. Little snippets of life! I didn’t realize or perhaps had forgotten the gentleman was from New Jersey.
