Saturday...
was the perfect day with blue skies and 70 degree temperatures.
It started with a peaceful morning, a much needed and relaxing manicure,
time at the inlet watching the boats and hoping to see the whale that was spotted there on Friday.
No luck on spotting the whale.
The day ended on the boardwalk at Martell's.
A stop at Jenkinson's Sweet Shop is a must when you visit the Point Pleasant boardwalk.
The sweet smell of chocolate, cotton candy and homemade fudge evokes a powerful feeling of nostalgia.
My favorite sight...the rows of candy apples and jars of colorful salt water taffy.

Hello, Debbie
Lots of goodies in the treat shop! I like your sandwich and fries, looks delicious. Have a great day and a happy week ahead.
I would find that Sweet Shop so tempting. You captured it beautifully, Debbie.
What a delightful place! Purple candied apples! I love salt water taffy. Seems it was best made at the state fair. Looks like the boardwalk has lobster at one end and crabs at the other. Linda in Kansas
Now that looks like a great trip out Debbie. Thank you for all these wonderful photographs.
So bright and happy looking. We are dark and drizzly and going into to a cold snap. So nice to visit here.

Goodness me! So much to choose from!
All the best Jan
PS Pleased you enjoyed your manicure.
Wow that is some shop of sweet treats and I can't believe that all the years we lived in NJ, we never visited, maybe that's a good thing. The sausage sandwish looks yummy.
I think I put on three pounds just while I was reading your blog post. All those goodies to eat... how do you resist?
Dear Debbie!
A wonderful shop and wonderful food! I love sweets, so I avoid those sweet shops. I make my fries in an oil-free fryer. I should point out that I'm not diabetic.
Have a wonderful November.
I love saltwater taffy.
Debbie, everything looks amazing 👏.
Sounds like the perfect day out, we are supposed to have a nice weekend here, I look forward to it :) Now I am thinking I need something sweet, LOL!
