Saturday Critters #622

When we were out last Saturday, the weather was so warm and so beautiful, we stopped at
Lake of the Lilies
I noticed that a few of our winter ducks have made their appearance.
They didn't get the memo that it was still very warm here but now it has gotten quite cold.
They must have heard the forecast.

I only see the American Wigeon during the winter.

- Male American Wigeon -

- Female Wigeon -

- Female and Male Wigeon and making an "almost" heart -

- Male American Wigeon, I noticed the green patch was much lighter on this male -

- Female American Wigeon with a Coot photo bomber -

- Female Ruddy Duck -

This Great Blue Heron was way off in the distance, I see them here year round.

These turtles were off in the distance also, I have never seen them this time of year.

Autumn is still holding on, just barely!

Hello Debbie,
Wonderful photos of the pair of American Wigeons. Great sightings of the ducks, coots and the Heron. The turtles seem to like sunbathing even in the colder weather. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thanks so much for leaving me a comment.

Look at those Fall colors! WOW! And you capture every little feather in your ducks. It's always fun to see one that has come back for the winter. Thank you so much Debbie for your prayers and encouraging words. And today you've given me some ideas for the hospital stays. I usually sit quietly doing puzzles on my IPAD. My husband has been so weak that he sleeps most of the time. But hopefully things will improve and we'll get to try out some of your ideas. What a sweet friend you are and have been for so many years! Sweet hugs, Diane

That orange bush is screaming fall and so pretty. You've captured some great pics of the ducks in the water as well as the turtles. We used to have a Great Blue Heron around one of the ponds in Yardley. Pa. I saw him for years and then one day he was gone. Funny how some of great blue herons weather the winter and then we see others here in Florida.

The widgeon is an awesome bird. My favorite things about them is their blue bills and the way they whistle.
