Saturday Critters

Drives in the car are in order right now, so much of nature can be viewed right from the vehicle.
One of many delights for me as summer comes to a close,
is seeing a field full of beautiful deer.
They can often be seen in any of the many open pastures in this area, not far from home.

It's always so exciting to see a little one, that still has its spots!

The Music Man

The Singing Ice Cream Shoppe in Lavallette, NJ
This is an amazing family destination at the Jersey Shore that combines a classic ice cream parlor with a vaudeville style broadway Cabaret.
Back on July 29, we had a girls night out for ice cream and a little entertainment.
We go every year, don't you just love a good tradition?
My sister-in-law, her daughter, her 2 children, Addie and Lorelei and my nieces mother-in-law.
We go every year and I really look forward to it!
You get an ice cream of your choice, music, dancing, funny stories and audience participation.

The evening starts with popcorn...

Addie got a Banana Split...

My niece Deanna got the Brioche Ice Cream Sandwich

I enjoyed the Churros with 3 dipping sauces.

Because of audience participation, Lorelei was not feeling it.

There is a picture of all of us, I can't seem to find it.

The Time Has Come

Can you define "Be Back Soon"...that's what I wrote on July 21st.
I googled it...here's the definition,
"person, group, or service will return or reopen within a short amount of time".
"A Short Amount of Time'
is defined as a brief period, duration or interval".
I was catching my breath and I thought I would be back here much sooner.
I am here today, to wrap this whole debacle up and move forward with some "happiness"!
The hospital was nice, clean and I do not have one complaint.
The nurses, the doctors, the dietary staff and housekeeping were all so amazing and helpful.
The hubs, is the greatest man I have ever known, he does everything.
The nurses were ready to hire him, all of my different roommates were jealous...he could be an RN.
I am home, walking with assistance and it is a good thing I am a patient person, the hubs too.

Here's a few pictures from my stay at the "Ritz" because, well, I don't know, no pictures, no proof.

Bagels and Bacon in the morning...

Brasised Beef, Mashed Potatoes and Carrots for dinner..

Chicken Piccata one night and let me tell you, I wasn't mad about it!

Some nights...the sunset was gorgeous and I did not even have to leave my bed to see it.

So that's it, I have something fun planned for tomorrow's post.

Out Of Touch

I did not intend to be gone so long...
I needed a few days to catch my breath and realized that not posting content to my blog everyday,
freed up a lot of time.

I have been reading, coloring, knitting, junk journaling and I have caught up on some movies that I have been wanting to watch.
The hubs has been tending to the garden...the "deer" have been enjoying the provisions.
The weather has not been conducive to being outside for any length of time, even when in the pool.
We have had several lovely storms and you know I love a dark sky during the day and a lot of rain.

As the seasons change, I adapt...I always have much to keep me busy.

I am getting another "check up", and I am in the hospital again, I just don't do well in the summer.
I could also use a new "car"...if you know what I mean?!

So a quick, boring update, I have a lot of pictures to share when I am up to it.
In between all of this, we did take a few day trips and I have some fun photo's to share.

I have been coloring a lot in the hospital, my hands are working well, the legs need some help.
I'll share this one picture I colored a few days ago, it is my favorite so far.

Asbury Park

Asbury Park is one of the coolest shore towns we visit here at the Jersey Shore.
It is a vibrant...colorful and culturally rich seaside town.
Known for its resilient spirit, diverse community and lively boardwalk.
A town that is also known as a creative hub, where coastal charm meets gritty urban edge.
Famous worldwide for popular spots like
The Stone Pony, Convention Hall, The Wonder Bar and The Paramount Theater.

Soaking rain did not dampen our visit to their pop-up craft festival inside Convention Hall.
It seems every weekend, there is something special scheduled here.

This shelf cloud was so pretty and provided some much needed rain.

The old Carousel Building in Asbury Park is quite iconic.
Built in 1929, the 5,000 square foot building was home to a wooden horse carousel.
A landmark along the oceanfront, abandon around 1980 the carousel itself was transported to
Family Kingdom Park in Myrtle Beach, S.C. in 1990.
The building is now empty, more or less but is used, at times, by the Wooden Walls Project.

Back on July 20th I wrote about the Color and Light Festival we attended in Asbury.
Right on the boardwalk the facade of this iconic boardwalk architecture
was transformed into a tapestry of light and sound, in digital art and projection mapping.

Sharing today some of the images I did not share in that post.
This was amazing.
A lot of the images made reference to the creativity of the area.

"Tilly" from the Wonder Bar.

The Carousel

The hubs and I took a lot of pictures, this is something we have never seen before.
I have more pictures, I "may" share in the future.

Summer Fun At The Jersey Shore

Down the shore, where Thursday night's are special and everything is alright

The boardwalk rides are colorful and fun.
Not for me...but those who ride seem to really enjoy them.

The boardwalk we visit is

They were celebrating Christmas in July.

Next stop...

Ice Cream was included on Thursday Nights adventure.
The hubs loves the
- Norma K -
which is named after the popular fishing boat docked right across the street.
Soft Vanilla Ice Cream, Brownie Pieces, Hot Fudge, Whipped Cream, Sprinkles and a Cherry.
They gave us 2 spoons so I had a little taste, I could feel the cavities developing as I ate.

This Ice Cream was huge.

Lastly, the fireworks...

and as always they were outstanding.

We drove past the inlet before heading home...

There were a few commercial fishing boats heading in for the night!
