Out for a drive in Howell Township, we came across...
Ardena School No. 2
We pass this old school house often, when we drive the backroads in Howell.
Built in 1855, it operated as a one room educational facility for children in that rural area.
A single room school with a 15 x 16 foot frame, and an outhouse.
The structure later became a church,
as it resembled a church, and a new school was built.
It later became a school again and parents were required to pay for their children to be educated here.
It was moved here to this spot in 1971,.
The hubs saw it being placed here as he went by on the school bus.
He grew up here in Howell Township, New Jersey were the school is now located.

What a neat old building and thank you for sharing the history. The bell is the perfect addition.
That looks pretty fancy for a mid-1800s building. Guess it's various owners added a few pretty things to it. Linda in Kansas

The building does have a welcoming vibe.
I remember a requirement for a high school diploma was the class on the history of New Jersey. There was an exam we had to pass.
Love these old school houses, we have a few around here too. That is so neat how they have decorated the outside of it!
Really enjoyed reading this. Social media growth requires the right strategy and tools, and https://likemax.in/ seems like a useful option to consider.
