Movies, Creatures and Fun

"Remarkably Bright Creatures"
Such an exceptional, heart warming movie that no one is talking about.
New on NetFlix, Sally Field is amazing in this film, if you have not seen it,
I can guarantee you will love it.
It is at times sad, there is a bit of happy mixed in, and it sure did make me feel good.
~ Tissues will be necessary ~

This little "remarkably bright creature" has been sitting right outside my front door all spring.

I believe he was here last year as he has the same habits as the chipmunk from last year.
When he scampers away, he goes to the same area, I believe his home is within the shrubs.
They do not live in trees, they live in highly organized, underground tunnel systems called Burrows.

It seems he eats this entire pile by himself.

I feed him black oil sunflower seeds, he really likes them.

I found this image on google and thought it worth sharing...
this is quite elaborate.

I have enjoyed watching and feeding this creature more than you will ever know!

Yes, yes, we watched Remarkably Bright Creatures 2 nights ago and LOVED it. Sally Field was definitely perfect in it. She is an amazing actress. And yes, I did shed some tears. I just borrowed the book and am reading it now.

We LOVED that movie and I have watched it three times already!
We do love our critters, don't we? A possum family lives under our kitchen deck and the babies are so cute. Amber gifted us a bird feeder with camera and AI ability to identify the different birds. So far we have had 28 species!

Chipmunks are just the cutest and so fun to watch. I have seen advertisements for that show but haven't had time to sit down and watch a movie, have it on my list :)

Wow wonderful pictures of the chipmunk. They are cute but we have WAY TOO MANY of them around here. The barn cats come over for supper sometimes. :)

Great pictures but chipmunks undermine our stone walls and gardens.

I have never seen chipmunks where I live, but I see them all the time at my son's house in Westchester NY. Wonderful photos and love the diagram of how they live.

Really? I'll give it a try, but I highly doubt a tissue will be needed. We have chippers and red squirrels in our area. Just a couple, which is probably enough.

I loved Remarkably Bright Creatures too! I think many people don't realize this about animals. We are constantly amazed by them. We feed the ferals here (feral cats, squirrels, raccoons, possums, crows, box turtles - here by the creek behind our house. Some come up to the back door. Recently along with the feral cats, and raccoons that frequently look in was a box turtle... letting us know that he needed 'something'. It was so funny to see his little head stretched up to look inside the window...

Charming little chipmunk and thanks for adding the diagram. What amazed me is that they build drainage tunnels. Clever little things to know they need them, learned through generations of flooding no doubt. I haven't seen the movie yet but it sounds like a good one. I like anything with Sally Field.
