Lake of the Lilies...it's not just for the Mute Swans you know.
The lake is home for quite an array of song birds and the big guys like Herons and Egrets.
Today, I will share some current pictures of the little songbirds.
This is a male Red Winged Blackbird...
it has a very loud, distinctive call, that you almost always hear before you see it.
This is the Female Red Winged Blackbird.
I rarely notice them...with their common coloring they do not stand out.
The very common Male House Sparrow.
This is the Female House Sparrow
All of these birds are commonly seen at Lake of the Lilies.

The male Red Winged Blackbird certainly steals the show, but I enjoyed seeing the females and sparrows as well.

We have been seeing several red winged blackbirds recently and the sparrows are always here in abundance.
great pics of them, a few of them look a bit puffed up, I have been enjoying watching the birds around here, they have been chasing each other around a lot lately too :)
Common birds that are often overlooked, great job photographing them!
