A stop at Jenkinson's Sweet Shop is a must when you visit the Point Pleasant Boardwalk.
The sweet smell of chocolate, cotton candy and homemade fudge evokes a powerful feeling of nostalgia.
My favorite sight...the rows of candy apples and jars of colorful salt water taffy.
Monday...
was the perfect day for a walk on the boardwalk,
with bright sunshine, blue skies and 70 degree temperatures.
It started with a much needed peaceful morning at home, then a drive to Point Pleasant.
We shared this sausage sandwich and ate every one of these french fries, this was so good,
and "very healthy", I'm sure.
We drove to the inlet, the ocean was rough,
the inlet was quiet and I did not see any large fishing boats.

I don't think you would have ever gotten me out of that store ;) Your shared meal looks delicious!
What is the meaning of the purple candied apples? Kansas State University people bleed purple. Amazing shop. I love salt water taffy. Linda in Kansas
I think I gained 10 pounds just looking at all those sweets. It all looks so good. I've never seen purple candy apples before.
Your lunch looks pretty good too.
Hello Debbie,
Your sandwich looks delicious. I try to avoid the sweet shops, I do love chocolate. Sounds like a great outing. Take care, enjoy your day and happy weekend.
Oh my everything looks soooo good. I'm hungry just looking at everything.
I've been to Point Pleasant many times when I was a kid. We'd rent a little cabin on the beach for a week. Happy Memories.
Goodness me that is a shop full of sugar, which I'm sure many will enjoy.
All the best Jan
