Bringing Spring Indoors

I have been tidying up a bit, putting away Easter decor and
organizing cabinets, shelves and the pantry.
I keep the house pretty organized and neat but that is only one part of keeping a cozy home.
Making your home comfortable is so important...it will evoke the feeling of,
"I love being home during this cooler spring season".

Starting with the most important element to me...does your house have a nice seasonal fragrance?
A simmering potpourri is so easy to put together and it will make your home smell amazing.
The best part is, you can use almost anything you have on hand.
I think citrus, vanilla, and cinnamon are the best three ingredients to include.

I didn't have all of the ingredients that I wanted to use, so I just used what I had on hand.
I used one apple, one orange, one lemon, cinnamon sticks, ground cinnamon and vanilla.
I did not have any fresh herbs which I normally use,
so I added dried rosemary and thyme.

Another way to bring spring into your home is by adding fresh flowers from the garden.
I have these vases of daffodils throughout the house.

I wanted to leave the lights on the television cabinet so I added some sea shells around them for summer.

All of these sea shells are shells the hubs buys for me,
and secretly drops them along the beach for me to "discover"
when we are hunting for sea glass and shells.
It is such a sweet thing that he does,
he keeps them hidden in the car so he has them with him when the time is right.

this is the only Precious Moment figurine I have.
A shell with a pearl inside, it was gifted to me by a favorite cousin.

I have taken plenty of time to color...

and finished up the butterfly, also the flowers below.
I am using colored pencils in this book.

This was March, as documented in my March Scrapbook Calendar.
Pretty and colorful...a fun way to memorialize our travels and outings.

If you are interested in this "Bucket List Calendar" by Brooklyn Swenson you can find it here.

This is April's Scrapbook Calendar...we are off to a good start.
This calendar come with ideas and stickers, and I also add stickers and cutouts for the other places we go.
I have a few more fun things for tomorrow...we have been out a lot.

Your home is lovely. I do the simmer pots a lot in the dead of winter for the steam and the fragrance. We have no flowers yet in the garden (It snowed yesterday) but I got a bouquet for Easter so I do have some fresh flowers.
A sweet thing your husband does with the shells.

Wonderful kick off to Spring. I love how you brought it inside. And fun on the good smells too. I love when the house is both clean and smelling good.

For this season I made pink, yellow and white daisy fabric reusable fabric pads to clean dishes with. And then larger ones for eating napkins.

I love the pop of bright. New floral curtain in the works.

Also we were married in April so it's extra bright and fun. Love that you have your blog books.

Happy April!!!!

I have a lot of candles i use but only when hubby isn't home, the smells bother him while he is at home.
Your hubby is a keeper, how sweet to buy your shells to find. They make a great decoration for the summer. Your coloring is terrific, love that butterfly.
You guys are filling up those calendars pretty good.
