Whatcha' Up To...

Have you been watching the Olympics?
We have been watching the skating,
skiing and we watched some of the snowboarding.
I am surprised at the ages of some of the excellent athletes,
both the young and older.

We went to the Summer Olympics in 1996, in Athens Georgia.
It was so exciting, a once in a lifetime experience.
We had tickets for soccer, gymnastics, track and field, wrestling and the gold medal soccer game.

Did you watch the Superbowl?
They showed this pretty picture of the Golden Gate Bridge before the game.

I guess all the hype surrounding it has dyed down, it wasn't a great game...
still we enjoyed it!
My KC Chiefs were out early,
I don't really know much about any of the other teams but the Seahawks played a great game.
They seemed to be the better team, and were certainly deserving of the win.

I finished up my knitting contribution for the
"Make For Another Makealong 2026"

3 Hats and 1 Cowl
I wish I could have donated more but I don't really knit quickly.
A lot of people have participated and Leanne has collected so many warm, handmade items.

I also finished up the box I put together for the...
"Beat The Winter Blues Swap"
You may remember what "I Received", the box I put together is headed to Florida.
The person you give to is different than the person you receive from.
I had so much fun putting this together

You have to include yarn and a book.

I included 2 skeins of yarn, one a purple blend, the other a cream color.
The book, "The Baking Games", nuts, candy, specialty teas, honey lollipops, lip balm.
Hand lotion, one of my favorite recipes that has a "knitting" connection, a hand knitted washcloth
and dill seeds from my garden that she can plant in hers.

I have been puttering around the house,
we have not been out really,
but it is warming up some and I think we may go to our local Aquarium on Thursday.
I need a little fun.

I'll close with this delightful thought...there are only 37 days until spring.

I think whomever receives your box will be the luckiest of all your group! What a thoughtful and fun collection. I love your hats, too. And yes, I'm watching the Olympics. I even got into curling which I've always thought was a bore, but I became kind of fascinated!

Oh, that box is wonderful! Lots of extra love in that!!! I love it. I don't watch the Olympics nor the Superbowl. My boys and hubby do and so I do know what is going on. :) Wooohooo, spring is coming!

No, I don't watch the Superbowl, but do watch the Olympics. DH has been fascinated by the curling... but generally we always watch the skiing, and the ice-skating. Your gift box looks great! Whoever gets it will love it. And we haven't been out much either... but the weather is nice today and we took a walk around the block.

I watched the Super Bowl, rooting for the Seahawks. I was hoping Patrick Mahomes was watching, cuz that Seattle quarterback could throw that ball a lot quicker than Patrick. Yea, I know they have to have someone to throw to. Loved that Seahawk who tackled two Patriots at a time. I don't speak Spanish, but the half time was very educational about the culture and heartbreaks in Puerto Rico and certainly projected what was happening without needing Spanish. Had some class. Loved learning about all the people walking in as grass; very creative. Linda in Kansas

I do like the hats and cowl.

I don't watch a lot of sport ...
I don't think Team GB are doing very well in the winter Olympics...

Happy midweek wishes.

All the best Jan

i had very mixed feelings about the halftime show. i loved the energy, all the vibrant colors and props but i think we should have singers who sing in english performing at the super bowl...that's just my opinion. i did not understand one word. i heard that those people you wore the "grass" were paid $1,000.00 each. the fireworks were 5 million and were tested several times before the show. sometimes i get caught up with the cost of things...how that money could help others with food, shelter and warm clothing. my mind seems to always lean that way but i did enjoy it!!

I've never been interested in the olympics or football. I tried to watch games with my husband but just couldn't do it.
That's a nice box you put together. The recipient will be pleased with that. The knitted items are great too.
