Do you have a Christmas Cactus in your indoor garden?
I have been seeing a lot of videos on social media lately about caring for a Christmas Cactus....
I was not caring for mine properly.
~ now is the time to wake your plant up ~
1. Provide bright, indirect sunlight - keep your plant in a bright spot,
it should not be sitting in direct sunlight.
2. Keep at room temperature, 65 - 75 degrees.
3. Cooler temperatures at night.
4. Late summer, snap off tips that are not full and plump.
5. Keep the soil moist, but not soggy.
6. Water evenly, but allow it to dry up before watering, fertilize occasionally.
7. During the fall and winter, it should be watered less.
This is how mine looked when I started, shabby and sparse.
Adhering to the tips, I snapped off all the ends that were not full and plump...
I soaked the ball in water for a few minutes and sprayed the leaves with water.
I fertilized it and will keep a close eye on it.
Fingers crossed.
There are three types of this plant,
Christmas Cactus, Thanksgiving Cactus and an Easter Cactus, I didn't know that.
Back in it's spot by the window, at least it looks healthy.
My Orchid has no buds but it does have 3 healthy leaves.
The Cyclamen has 2 flowers but the leaves are doing poorly.
I cleaned it up and fertilized it.
This is a Flaming Katy Kalanchoe.
I am thinking about purchasing one large plant/tree.
I am seeing ones that have a watering cup built into the pot,
and you only have to fill it once per month.

Debbie, I have a Thanksgiving cactus in my inside plants. She is doing well in that she is very full and looks healthy, but no blooms right now. She has the early morning sun and is in the East window. I was told to put her in a dark place for a few days ever so often. Supposedly the plant likes that...
Hello,
I hope your Chrsitmas Cactus does well, you seem to be taking good care of the plant. I like your succulent planter and the Kalanchoe is pretty, nice pot too. Take care, have a great day!
The plant with the watering pot sounds perfect for me. My husband takes care of the indoor plants here.
I have a few inside plants info on the Christmas cactus.

I really like the Christmas cactus. I have three seedlings. They're resting in the garage right now. I haven't watered them yet. I love Kalanchoe. I had white and red ones for Christmas. They grew very large and I gave them to a friend. Now I have a pink one. It's beautiful. Sending hugs and best wishes.
I had a gorgeous indoor Christmas cactus that bloomed profusely . When we started going to Florida in October, I gave it to my kids. After a number of years they have almost succeeded in killing it. We'll see if it makes it this year. ha ha
How lovely, Debbie.
