The Five Dollar Chicken

Good Morning Friends, it may be afternoon by the time I finish this,
but I would once again like to talk about
Costco's Five Dollar Chicken!
I know we have done this before, but humor me please,
I am sure I could feed a small village on "one" of those chickens.

Day One...We enjoyed hot, fresh, sliced chicken,
with stuffing and mashed potatoes.
I did not make a vegetable, I only have so much room in my belly,
and I'm not giving up any of that space for a vegetable.

Day 2 - I used the second third of the leftover chicken to make a big bowl of chicken salad.
Chicken Salad before mixing with mayonnaise.
- sweet onion, sliced almonds, diced chicken, and diced celery -
S & P
Last step, mix in the mayonnaise.

Day 3 - Chicken Noodle Soup Day
I do not have a recipe for Chicken Noodle Soup, pictured are the ingredients.
- 2 carrots, 2 celery stalks and one sweet onion, all diced -
- 2 cloves of garlic, the spices you love in chicken soup and the chicken left from the Costco Chicken -
- chicken stock or chicken broth -

This Chicken Noodle Soup is the best...so easy and so comforting!

I finally got around to returning your visit. Now I'm hungry for chicken. I don't shop at Costco but I've gotten the rotisserie chickens at Walmart. They are so good. I want to get one right now after seeing this. I don't know which looks better, your day one meal or the soup

Chicken is so versatile, so nutritious and nearly always reasonably priced. For me it's a winning ingredient however you serve it.

Your chicken noodle soup looks very tasty.

All the best Jan

Yup -- rotisserie chickens are an amazing buy. Your soup looks so good (and I'm in Florida, but still, it's winter....). Thank you for following me to the blog's new location -- so much appreciate your support. I think the new Wordpress address should show up on my comment and there's a new post toward the top (finally). I'm looking forward to catching up.

Those chickens are also available at BJs and do go a long way for several dinners and the carcass does make for great soup. Who wouldn’t like stuffing and mashed potatoes vs veggies. I would add homemade cranberry relishđŸ˜‹

I'm with you -- they are a great buy and you get a lot of food out of them!

Nice when you can get 3 meals out of anything :)

The closest Cosco to us is over an hour away. So sadly I have never been to one. But you made good use of that chicken!

I'm awfully hungry right now ;) We buy those chickens from Costco too and I love them just for how many meals we can make, plus making broth from the bones. Your meals look delicious!
