In The Kitchen

We enjoy eating out for dinner but I also enjoy cooking.
I guess what I really enjoy is an even blend of both.
When the boys were little, I cooked every night and it became a chore.
I think I enjoy cooking more now as I am not limited to "what will they eat"?
The hubs eats and loves everything and is always so complimentary of anything I make.

I watch Allrecipes on YouTube and the girl made this, she did not give measurements,
except the one cup of pasta, that she did clarify.
She did a squeeze of this, a little of that and a whole lot of spices, s & p, and italian seasonings.
I added seasonings as I went, it felt liberating not to measure.

- the ingredient lineup -

Brown one pound of good ground beef...

add one diced sweet onion.

Maybe 2 tablespoons of tomato paste and 2 tablespoons of ketchup, something like that.

Add about 2 cups of beef broth...and 1 cup of uncooked elbow noodles...
the noodles will cook in the broth.

Once they are Al-Dente, add some heavy cream, a splash...I think I added about 1/4 cup.

It will look creamy like this...
then add 2 big handfuls of cheddar cheese, forget to take a picture, and dinner is done.

It will look pretty like this.
It would be great with a salad but I did not have the ingredients for a salad.
We had it with French Bread and it was delicious.
A little reminiscent of Hamburger Helper but so much better.

A meal in one pan is wonderful, Debbie. I also have been watching some Allrecipes videos on YouTube with a female presenter who is very personable and I’m already planning to try a few of the recipes. I have seen versions of the one in this post as well. BTW I also use that same brand of tube tomato paste, it comes in handy😏

Looks good and easy, thanks for sharing. Truthfully, sometimes I have cravings for good ol fashion Hamburger Helper from my childhood.

Looks delicious Debbie and how nice that hubby loves everything you make. I often find recipes on YouTube. My old cookbooks get very little use these days, apart from the odd leaf-thru. Everything I get is from the internet these days.

Yum, that looks really good. It's just me now so I don't do much cooking any more. I tend to make one big meal, eat lots of leftovers and put some in the freezer.

My husband loves to cook. He will love this recipe. I love to bake. Since he has retired I don't cook, except on the weekends. There is nothing worse than coming home from work and having to make something.

Looks great! I find I am more liberal with spices these day than I ever was.

Everything you cook looks delicious, Debbie! i am going to try this recipe. I made the homemade "hamburger helper" alot when the kids were growing up. I still make it once in awhile, but its not this recipe. Are you in the path of that big cold storm they're predicting????

I love the uncooked noodles. Just did this, this morning with the baby pressure cooker and it works well there too. I love that the broth or for me, sauce cooks the noodles. Have you tried this with lasagna yet? Works really well though does take extra sauce in the oven for sure.

I freak out without measurements, maybe that is why I don't care for cooking, I am not care free with it, although we only eat out at the most once a week, the rest of the time I cook, maybe I need to eat out more, LOL! Looks yummy.
