We have been having warmer temperatures and warmth always brings us to the boardwalk for a walk.
On Wednesday we went to Ocean Grove.
This boardwalk was destroyed during Super Storm Sandy and rebuilt shortly after.
It is nice and smooth,
a beautiful walk, with a great view of its old victorian homes.
Asbury Park...
The Grand Arcade is home to
The Paramount Theater, Convention Center, eclectic shops and a restaurant.
This is the old, historic carousel house built in May 1928.
The carousel itself was purchased in 1990,
removed from this building and moved to Family Kingdom Park in Myrtle Beach South Carolina.
It still operates there today with fiberglass replicas of the original wooden horses.
Both Ocean Grove and Asbury Park are small seaside communities.
Both are known for their sandy beaches and beachfront boardwalks lined with shops, arcades and cafes.
A perfect day--a perfect walk!! Wow what a pretty blue sky! We have been to the carousel at myrtle Beach. Hope you had a good week!

The sky is so beautiful and of course so is the whole area.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful area perfect for a walk and to take pictures!
ReplyDeleteLove the architecture. The carousel house was built in the same year that my father was born: 1928.
Love the colour of the sand. That is an interesting spot for a wander.
ReplyDeleteThat carousel has been in movies I bet.
What a pretty area and a great place to walk.
ReplyDeleteSuch great big buildings, it looks pretty deserted. Someone kept busy drawing hearts, neat to come upon, makes you wonder what the story behind it was :)
ReplyDeleteGreat place to walk and see the beach! I would like to see the original carousel!
