Yarn Along

I can not begin this entry today without reflecting back on my trip to the
New York Sheep & Wool Festival
It was such a great experience with my wonderful knitting family.
Leanne, my knitting teacher, put the whole trip together and I can't thank her enough.
If you missed any of those posts and are interested in reading about the festival,
they can be found hereherehere and here.

I purchased some yarn at a cute little yarn shop
Fiber Arts Yarn Shop in Cape May
This certainly makes up for the yarn I did not purchase at the festival.
I shop better in a small, quiet shop - with only a few choices.
The yarn is a pretty, light beige - a blend of fine merino wool and baby alpaca!

I am still working on the Guernsey Wrap and I am almost halfway.

Here's a close up of the stitch pattern.

It's getting really long, this image gives you a better idea of size.
Laying on my lap, it is actually keeping me warm while I work on it.
I wish you could "feel" it,
I am working with baby alpaca yarn and it is so incredibly soft.

We have been so busy the last few weeks, trying to enjoy every single minute of Autumn.
Soon, it will be cold and we will hunker down for Winter...
I secretly love that part of my life.
I am also secretly hoping for lots of snow...I just love when it snows!

Happy November, it sure did come around quickly!!

  6. Sue has had the bright idea to crochet bum warmers for cold hokey arenas. To place between bum and cold seat. In the team colours no less. Perhaps I shall post in due course, She's finished one and has plans to do three.

  7. I know that feeling, that's what makes going to our happy places so important. It's like enjoying the meal long after we've eaten it. Recalling it is so wonderful!

  13. November is so gray, chilly and dismal around here that I so look forward to the clean, white, sparkling snow covering it all up. :-)

  15. I can touch the computer screen and almost feel the softness of your Guernsey Wrap, Debbie. It does look wonderfully snuggly. Love the pattern. I can just imagine you bunking down for the Winter in that beautiful room.

  18. I agree with you. Small local shops are best. Big crowded events are exciting, but I can only take so much.
