We took a drive on Monday, to take a look at the ocean after Sunday's storm.
If you live at the shore,
you know you always want to "see" the ocean when a storm is coming in or going out.
I can't explain it, it's a "thing"!
We didn't have snow, just rain, but it rained a lot.
We slept through the storm but there were reports of excessive rain and wind...
and that the ocean waves were huge 10 feet or higher.
I had to see for myself.
It was freezing at the beach and the winds were blistery, gusty, and the ocean reacted.
Let me show you...
I spoke with one of the surfers and they were having the time of their life.
Many of the streets in Point Pleasant were closed due to flooding.
I guess I slept thru a good storm, drats!
Hello,
ReplyDeleteAwesome shots of the waves and surfers. Take care, have a happy day!
That's some dedication! I have to think the water temp is none too balmy, not to mention the air temperature. The wave action looks really good, though! We ended up with about 5" of snow from that storm.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, in another lifetime, I hope you come back in a snowy northern clime, which has snow and lots of storms. I want to come back in New Jersey!
ReplyDeletemarie...so funny you should say that!! when i left the car, the hubs said, "i ain't going! take all the time you want but i'm waiting in the car"!! i had to climb steps to reach the beach access but that was not going to stop me!! when i saw the surfer at the top he said, "you ain't dressed for this"! perhaps he was talking about my capri pants and my flip-flops!! it was bone chilling cold, even for me, but i had to see the ocean!! "it's a shore thing"!!
DeleteThose last two pictures of the surfer are just great but it does look cold and don't imagine I would stay long.
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt really is beautiful but when I see those surfers...I think they are crazy! heehee! But I guess if you are young and strong, maybe it would be fun.....nah...they are crazy! hahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tour! Spiffy waves. I think the surfers froze their brains, so it's a different degree of craziness. Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeletehehehehe, they are so nice, always striking up conversation. i always say the same thing, "how about them waves"!!
DeleteHuge, dangerous waves. I admire daredevils - surfers, they have a great time.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures of Debbie are beautiful. It's amazing, in such weather, were you wearing capri pants and flip-flops?
Hugs and greetings:)
