The efforts have been ongoing,
for a town that lost it's way but is trying to make a comeback.
Asbury Park is a small seaside community on the New Jersey coast,
probably best know for it's music venues, some think their beaches are the best in New Jersey.
It's fun, eclectic, with great boardwalks and a colorful nightlife.
We usually visit during the daytime or early evening,
we have given up the "night life" for the most part.
I write about our adventures in Asbury Park often, some of those entries are here, here and here.

The town is known for their painted murals,
the following are new but I have written about some of the others, here, here and here.

Here is an overview of just a few of the beautiful and abstract murals.

Wishing Asbury Park the best, we hope you make it!
Hello, Asbury Park looks nice. I like the murals. The convention hall is a pretty building. I hope they do well. Enjoy your day, wishing you a great new week ahead!
ReplyDeleteEverything in the park is beautiful. The Convention Hall is special.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week.
One can only hope the town can come back. It is still ranked the second most violent city in the state - not the kind of reputation to encourage people to visit.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty area. Hope it survives!
ReplyDeleteAsbury Park! That makes me think of Bruce Springsteen.
ReplyDeleteawwww, The Boss!! he still makes random appearances from time to time. he remembers his roots, where he got his start and always speaks highly of asbury park!!
DeleteBROOOOOCE! :-D

Thanks for your comment on my post. I answered over there.
You asked about macular degeneration and my floaters. Mine aren’t from Mac D, just normal wear and tear on the eyes.
ReplyDeleteI have an on-line friend here I know through birding. She is interested in monarchs too. I thought you might like to it her work.

Hi Debbie... I remember reading some of your Asbury Park posts before and loving the beach life and the beautiful beach itself. But couldn’t remember what you’d said about why the town had lost its way. So I followed the links, loved the second and third as much as I loved this post (a lot)... the first link you have is off though, it links to a different place, not yours. Anyway, though, I still don’t know why or how the town lost its way. ...... also, All your posts make me long for a sunny beach. It is raining here )).
ReplyDeleteThose painting look very detailed.
ReplyDeleteLove all these pictures, makes me think of the "Boss" of course. LOL I've been to N.J., but not that part. I do love looking at murals like those, so fun!! So many talented artists.
ReplyDeleteThat's one cool octopus
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing to me when people do artistic work in small forms but when they do them in such big formats as in on buildings like that it just blows me away, love that reflection in those glasses and the eyes on that girl are just terrific! I hope they make it too, hate to see cities go down :(
ReplyDeleteI love it when little towns make a comeback. It seems that everything is going the way of shopping centers or Walmart. The murals are awesome- I especially love that little bird!
ReplyDeleteI have only heard bad things about this town.
ReplyDeleteI hope they make a comeback.
Those murals look very good.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you as you say 'Wishing Asbury Park the best, we hope you make it!'
All the best Jan
Debbie - as you know, my husband is a HUGE Springsteen fan, so Asbury Park has a special place in his heart (and he has never been there). Glad to see that is trying to make a comeback. Have you seen the movie "Blinded by the light?" We thoroughly enjoyed it! Enjoy the rest of your week!
ReplyDeleteWow, the murals area awesome. I love that they are working on this beautiful area. We love to see places like this improve and grow.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs for sharing this and all the links too!
Love the murals! They're doing a nice job bringing things back!
