The falling leaves in the back yard provided a pretty backdrop for my images today.
My Blue Jays are pretty spoiled in the food department.
I lay out peanuts on the deck rail for them, and in turn, they pose nicely for pictures.
Junior the squirrel was also in on the action...
he battles it out with the Jays, but honestly, there is always enough for everyone!
I just got my bird feeder out hung up yesterday. It doesn't take the birds long to catch on to the free food.
ReplyDeleteYour Blue Jays are very pampered! But they return the favour with their scintillating beauty. A friend of mine made a really long feeder from which to dispense peanuts in the shell. Yesterday at one point I had three birds on it at the same time. Red-breasted Nuthatches have also taken to it with great gusto.
ReplyDeleteDon’t the jays look like they were dabbed with paint?
ReplyDeleteHello, your Jays are spoiled. The squirrels will enjoy the feast too. Awesome photos. Enjoy your day, have a great new week!
ReplyDeleteWonderful Debbie. That bird is beautiful. and he also looked at you. Thank you
ReplyDeleteGood tuesday.
Besos.
whattaya think they think when they come across those shelled peanuts?
ReplyDeleteMaybe, "Oh, I've found heaven."
Blue Jays are so pretty! The pattern on the wings is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love the pattern on their wing and only God could do it:)
ReplyDeleteAren't they just beautiful, even the squirrel :) I love that blue against the colorful bokeh background!!

Hi Debbie...your blue jays are prettier than ours here ..(I do see the kind you have sometimes when we’re in Florida.). I am still here and still safe ...I have figured out that all the people who are having trouble commenting on mine are using Blogspot. It’s one step forward, we’re still working on it.
ReplyDeleteOh the stunning way you've used the blanket of coloured leaves as your backdrop to the pretty Jays is really delightful.
ReplyDeleteYour beautiful Jays are doubly spoiled. They get lots of peanuts and then don';t even have to shell them.Mine have to do their own shelling.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful the Blue Jays look with the backdrop of your golden leaves.
ReplyDeleteAdored these photos and that background of the Autumn leaves is perfect!
ReplyDeleteWow....those feathers are truly amazing, my friend. You take the most beautiful pictures, Debbie. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. Hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteI do love Junior! I think it is so fun when you get a good pose from him. The BlueJays are beautiful. I love the bright colors. These are some great shots and the fall backgrouond is perfect.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs!
Beautifully coloured feathers
ReplyDeleteWhat fabulous photographs :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
I do love the blue jays! I can imagine the battles between the birds and squirrels. I've seen blue jays "dive bomb" squirrels, before. I'm not sure there is ever a clear winner in this one.
ReplyDeleteThose jay piggies! LOL! Junior makes me laugh! Beautiful photos!
