The Monarchs Are Here...

It was such a treat to see the first
Monarch Butterfly
of the season in my garden on Friday!

If nothing in the world ever changed, there would be no butterflies!
Here's to a summer filled with change!

  3. A Monarch is always a welcome sight. We have not had as many this year as we have in previous years but have been able to retrieve several eggs from the milkweed in our back yard and are raising them indoors.

    2. Hi Debbie: We also have five Giant Swallowtails ready to emerge any day now. We had one Black Swallowtail and the caterpillar seemed to be perfectly healthy and was eating well but one day we found it dead on the floor of the cage.
Rue seems to be the food of choice for the swallowtails in our yard.
