Saturday Critters ~ 239 ~

The bird bath sees a lot of action during the hot summer months.
The American Robin
is a frequent visitor for both drinks and cooling off.

I wonder if he/she was checking overhead for the hawk,
just to be sure it was safe to go in the water?

The hubs scrubs the bird bath frequently and we put fresh water in it every day.

  1. Kudos to you for taking such good care of your bird bath. I have no doubt that it contributes in no small way to the well being of the birds you seek to attract. American Robins seem to take greater delight than most in bathing. In this hot weather it must be a special relief to have such a reliable source of water.

  2. Great photos! I find robins to be the worst offenders when it comes to splashing all of the water out! I often have to refill the bird bath during hot weather. They like their bath time!

  7. A clean water bird bath would surely be a wonderful temptation to a hot bird. Gorgeous photos. Love the look of 'your' robin in the second photo!

  12. Hi there Debbie, Mr. Front Porch cleaned and filled my bird feeders and the water dishes for me today too and I sure appreciated it. Loved these pictures of the bird enjoying the nice cool water. They sure do love it, don't they?---fun to watch them. I know they appreciate anything we put out for them, they really do.

  17. The robin appears to be enjoying your birdbath- and now that it’s all clean and dapper, he’s (she’s?) all ready for a date.
