Saturday Critters ~ 220 ~

oh the weather outside is frightful, but the birds are still delightful...
That's right, even when it rains and snows, and the lighting is imperfect,
you can still observe and photograph our feathered friends.

If you look closely, you can see the snow falling and rain droplets on their little "roofs"!

Chickadee

Male House Finch

Male House Sparrow

I found some little ones taking cover in the shrubs and trees.

Song Sparrow

Mourning Dove

I'm watching them and they are surely watching me!

  5. Hello Debbie!:) Gorgeous gorgeous captures!! I love the male House finch too, and the last Chickadee image is outstanding. It must be wonderful to get so close to your garden visitors without getting wet, and better than watching TV!!:)

  8. Sorry your weather is frightful. We're experiencing the best weather of the year...except for all the oak and azalia pollen in the air.

  9. Hello Debbie, they are all sweet birds. I especially love your shots of the Chicakdees. Our power went out yesterday morning and is not back on yet. Thankfully hubby got our generator working long enough for me to make a few comments. I will catch up on all links and blog comments asap. Thanks so much for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!

  13. We had 8"of thick heavy snow--that covered all the feeders, but the minute the snow stopped, the squirrels, chick-a-dees and blue jays were digging through the snow for their food.

  14. So precious, each and every one .... my favorite is the chickadee. I don't blame them for taking shelter in the trees and shrubs!

  17. I have been thinking about you, the news have really showed some horrible views of the storms! As for these photos they are beautiful and I think the male house finch was it, the second one is very sweet!

  18. Also, I was wondering if you have ever gone to see Lucy the elephant that's in my post today? I'd really enjoy going inside of it and I can't believe how or rather why it was built in the first place. America sure has some great stories doesn't it?!

  19. They do look so very pretty in the snow, it surprises us how many we will get on the feeders during the rain, but I guess if your hungry you have to eat. Loved your pretty pictures today!

  21. Beautiful portraits -- cardinals seem to belong to winter weather as we always used to see them on Christmas cards.
