MarineLand

The Deer are beautiful and maintain their spots for the entire first year of life.
We were able to feed the Brown Bears...
and trust me when I say they are very good at catching food.
Buffalo
and Elk
Canada was having "their" Summer on this 20th day of September,
and it was about 90 degrees fahrenheit in the shade, (32 degrees celsius, we are in Canada you know)
there is a funny story connected to that, I will share another time!
We enjoyed our time here but had several other adventures planned for the day.

ReplyDeleteThe deer are just gorgeous, I didn't know that about that antlers, do you think they get so many questions about it that they just put up a sign :) Oh my that was a HOT day wasn't it, I think we all have been having those above normal temps here lately. I think my favorite pic was of the bears just sitting back waiting to be fed, too fun!

ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing, they post that, about the shedding of the velvet!!!! :-) But I bet, there are people, who don't read it, and who are looking for a park person, to "complain," about the poor animals. -grin-

Finally it is beginning to cool down up here. I'm sure you are too. Wheeeew!!! A blogger said, that some weather system, from Jose, kept our coolness from coming to us. And my husband has been watching a front, so I agree.

Oh you are making me want to grab my camera and go to the zoo.....I started with my professional camera in 2008 and have yet to take out to someplace like that. Great pics.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures of these beautiful wild animals -- interesting to see the deer with spots and antlers both -- I think the ones we see out here in the West lose those spots sooner.
ReplyDeleteThe deer and buffalo looking a bit shaggy this time of year, and the brown bears getting fat for their hibernation.
ReplyDelete]Some people feel sorry for these "caged" in animals, but they have plenty of room to wander and a good diet. You put them back in the wild, they'd probably die with a years time.
The animals all look so very healthy. That's encouraging.

ReplyDeleteyou got great photos! I love the "dots" on the deer! And that one picture of them all laying down together---that is a sea of antlers!! The big bears---oh my!!---I am so scared of BEARS, I don't think I could even get that close, LOL I have worked with animals much much much much larger than bears....but never felt threatened but put me near a BEAR and Im outta there! ha ha ha LOL
ReplyDeleteOur summer, which lasted for about two weeks in September, ended yesterday. The drop in temperature was quite prodigious.
