You would have to live in New Jersey to understand the hype.
- Snow was forecasted for Thursday -
All day Wednesday on the television, it was all anyone talked about.
Red banners and beeping across the bottom of the screen no matter what channel you were on.
It was going to snow and it was going to snow big, up to 10 inches was predicted.
Flights were cancelled,
schools were closed, road crews worked all day preparing the roads,
all before one flake fell.
Here it is Thursday night, all is said and done and we got about 2 inches,
I am unimpressed!
I didn't go anywhere and I was slightly uninspired to take pictures.

The sun came out around 3 p.m., yet in some areas, the sky was still dark.
We had a snow day - but only by the skinny!

Love that little bird, all your photos are so pretty even coming from my world of lots of snow. Although ours is disappearing quickly too! We're in a bit of a heat wave for a few days too, in the 40's!

ReplyDeleteYou got just enough snow for some beautiful captures and I love the one of the bird in the snow. I know where your storm went...it came here to Long Island. We are buried under about a foot of snow and schools have been closed for two days. I will try to get outside with a camera a little later on, but right now I cannot get out the back door! Thanks for sharing your pretty pictures!

ReplyDeleteWe had a few snowflakes fall yesterday and a few more today, but nothing settled. The grand-kids were disappointed, they wanted to build snowmen!

Sorry you didn't get a great big dump of snow!. We had 4-6" just in some passing flurries. On top of the foot or 18" on the ground.
ReplyDeleteIt does look pretty! Love the little bird. We had a big wind-storm forecast in October that shut everything down and it never amounted to anything. Seems Mother-nature is always unpredictable. xx K
ReplyDeleteYou did get just enough snow for pretty pictures. I find it strange that schools would beclouded,even before the snow comes.Around here we wait to see how bad it will get and IF there will be a need to close schools.

I just can't take those forecasts seriously any more. Whether it's an end of world snow storm or an end of world tornado--they always seem to be off. BUT I was wondering how much snow New Jersey got because daughter lives there. North of you, Milford, so maybe they got more?

ReplyDeleteIt's so pretty -- almost makes me wish I could spend a real winter day or two (but only almost ;>). For me that would be a LOT of snow (even if we were still spending the winters in Oregon).
