Do you remember when you were a kid and you had a snow day?
Well - the reason you don't remember is because we rarely had them.
When my kids were growing up - they had some, but not too many.
Kids today have a lot because around here,
schools are closed if snow is "in the forecast".

It was suppose to snow on Friday, that snow was a no show,
but it snowed on Saturday, about 8 inches, and that was beautiful.
3 inches, midway - before the hubs had to go out and work the machines for snow removal.
I'm so glad we hadn't taken down the Christmas lights, they look so pretty in the snow!
It was was well worth scrolling down to the last photo.

I'm glad you didn't take down the outside lights too! Beautiful. We got about 4" more of snow today. No big deal around here.
ReplyDeleteOh, how your wintry photos make my heart sing.....just beautiful. How pretty your home looks sitting in all the snow. Living here downunder I can't say we ever had a snow day. We always had to travel hundreds of miles to "catch" the snow.
ReplyDeleteI do, I do, and guess what, we have the same story playing here right now too! Our snow day is arriving in three rounds. Round two this morning and three tomorrow morning!

ReplyDeleteYour snow looks light and fluffy. Perfect! The Christmas lights are just beautiful. I teach 2nd grade and my school district works on a "snow day plan". We get 10 snow days where the students work on packets of school work (at home during the snow day) and we collect them as soon as we return to school. 10 days we don't have to make up.

ReplyDeleteDebbie I must say your photos of the snow are very pretty. The Christmas lights were so lovely. - Now we've had snow here before Christmas and then on New Years day and it's been snowing again all day. We here are tired of shoveling sidewalks....I long for spring.

ReplyDeleteThe snow creates such beautiful scenes. Where I live, it has to blowing snow,or extreme cold before we close schools, but then we are further north.
ReplyDeleteThat was a pretty good fall. Around here they usually keep the schools open, but the buses don't run. If parent wish to drive their kids in and pick them up later, the kids get looked after..
ReplyDeleteIt looks so beautiful! Love the snow covered 'Christmas tree'! I grew up in New England and it had to snow pretty deep for school to be cancelled. Now they cancel school if it is just forecast! I feel bad for all the parents that have to scramble to find a sitter. xx Karen

ReplyDeleteWe rarely have snow here. As a small child I lived in Scotland and it was common place to have large amounts of snow and schools were not closed. Health and safety nowadays is very differnt.
We haven't had a snow day since two days before Christmas in 1989. The whole area was snow and ice! No traffic! Lol

ReplyDeleteI don't remember snow days as a child; but then I lived in a small town and they weren't worried about stuck traffic. While raising children we had them in Spokane and I loved them because we could just enjoy the day together and watch movies and sip Hot Chocolate. We have them occasionally here; but it doesn't concern us because we don't have children going to school. I don't like going out in it but I very much loved all of your photos of your area. They were so lovely; I do love looking at snow. Blessings and hugs~
