Celebrating New Years Eve

That title sounds so funny to me.
I don't really consider New Years to be a holiday, nor is it one we ever "celebrate".
Usually in bed long before the ball drops,
I'm not even sure these two people have ever seen the ball.

But - one thing we do every year is take a ride down to Casino Pier in Seaside Park
for fireworks at 5 p.m.
This girl cannot resist fireworks.
I put on the boots, we brave the cold wind from the ocean and enjoy a wonderful winter display.

We always arrive a few minutes early,
the ocean looked like a lake and there wasn't a single soul on the beach.

Casino Pier, the best place to view the fireworks,

we always set up shop right in front of Lucky Leo's.

Something new I noticed, inscribed messages on the boards, which I find very cool.

The fireworks were beautiful and you can't beat seeing them at 5 p.m.
It's nice for families with young children and people like me, who can't stay up that late!

So - that's a wrap on 2016!

  4. That looks like a fun way to "celebrate" - I'm a ball drop watcher - although I can't honestly say you're missing anything be sleeping through it. Happy New Year, Debbie!

  12. Now that is my time to see the fireworks too, looks like the pier was hopping too, that is neat to go along and read the quotes in the pier, I wonder if they had to pay for it and that is what paid for the pier, if so that is a good idea! You did a fantastic job of capturing the fireworks and looks like your hubby was even able to get the reflection of them on you in your picture!

  15. A perfect new Year's Eve!
Like you, I don't really think of it as a holiday, but I did actually stay awake until midnight this year.
Of course that's only because I grabbed a little nap during the afternoon! :-)

  21. Hi Debbie, yes 5pm is a beaut time - our first one is 9pm... whah!! still too late for me. Glad you got to enjoy it, but, ooooooh that cool sea air must've been something else. You certainly look like a snuggle-bunny in that pretty coat and, I'm guessing, one of your handmade scarves. Still, a nice bit of bracing air makes it all the more lovely to come back to a cosy warm home... with a camera full of great pics :D)

  27. I must say, as a lot as I enjoyed reading what you had to say, I couldnt help but lose interest after a while.
Its as if you had a wonderful grasp on the subject matter, but you forgot to include your readers.
Perhaps you should think about this from far more than one angle. Or maybe you shouldnt generalise so considerably.
Its better if you think about what others may have to say instead of just going for a gut reaction to the subject.
Think about adjusting your own believed process and giving others who may read this the benefit of the doubt. Robux Generator
