- I picked this kit up in Hershey -
If you have never made one, they are not all they are "cracked" up to be!
If you have never made one, they are not all they are "cracked" up to be!
Our base was "cracked", elmers glue was needed for the repair.
Don't tell anyone - although I didn't think anyone would eat it after it was done anyway.
Do people eat these things??- we are first timers!!
It was fun to put together...
Mike was the building inspector!
The best part was the special alone time with Mike.
Mike wore 2 hats - taste tester and building inspector,
everything was approved!
We ran out of white frosting so we "tweaked" it just a little,
I think ours looks great!
Everyone was happy with the end results...
But fyi - these things are not so easy to put together!

Lovely and yummy :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks good! I think very few things are as easy to put together as they appear. A little Elmer's glue never hurt anyone, either. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHello, Debbie! Your Hershey house looks great. I would have a hard time NOT eating the kisses and the Hershey bars. YUM! Enjoy your day and the week ahead! I wish you all the best in 2017, Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteElmer's ... funny
ReplyDeleteYou did a fantastic job and like you said doing something with your family makes it even that more special!! I have always wanted to try one of these but haven't yet. You know I don't know if anyone actual eats them or not but I am sure it would be tempting for a kid to pull off some candies ;)
ReplyDeleteIt sure looks good! I would have a hard time not nibbling on it. :-)
ReplyDeleteAs my son discovered when he made a gingerbread house for me, for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThe roof is being held on with super glue! :-)
Reed would FREAK OUT over this. And there would be CHOCOLATE ALL OVER MY HOUSE!!! How fun! xoxo Andrea @ This Knitted Life
ReplyDeleteAw special times indeed Debbie. Mike was getting right into his Building Inspector role in that fourth pic. I loved the body language between yourself and Mike in that fifth pic... it's like he's itching to take over! Can see how you're loving sharing that time with him. A happy and loving post, and, bonus, the house came out looking real beaut. Cheers and well done :D)
ReplyDeleteIt looks great!
ReplyDeleteThey really are fun though but no I wouldn't want to try to eat one, but Jas ate his as they ended up being cookies. Lol
Oh boy a Hersey kit.... I thing we would of just ate it and not put it together. The grands us to make gingerbread houses....and the candies did get eaten after they were made! I'm so happy you had this time with your son!!
ReplyDeleteFYI- I think Mike may be her husband!
DeleteIt certainly looks good.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics of the three of you too!
All the best Jan
Still, it looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteIt's cute, but I wouldn't have the patience. LOL
ReplyDeleteSummer used to make chocolate houses back when she was an older teenager! One year our dog ate it! Didn't even make her sick!
ReplyDeleteYours turned out beautiful! I know what you mean about spending one on one time with your son!
I"ve never made one personally
ReplyDeleteIt really turned out cute! You would never know that this was your first try! So nice to spend time with your handsome son - a beautiful family :) xx K
ReplyDeleteChocolate sounds better than gingerbread to me, but I am probably the only one in the fam to think so.
ReplyDeleteFun! The building inspector did a great job wearing all his hats. (had this been our family, it would have had to be my son's job to keep me from eating the chocolate first.
ReplyDeleteI really really loved this one. I like the idea it is made out of chocolate. I guess it is because I am not a gingerbread fan for some reason. I loved that you were doing this with your awesome son, Mike. I thought he looks like a great taste tester and building inspector. You husband looked involved too. Way to created a sweet memory. Hugs~
ReplyDeleteI did this with JKs one year!!!
