I have a thing for hats, not wearing them, knitting them.
I look terrible wearing a hand knitted beanie hat.
I like knitting hats because they are easy,
I can usually memorize the pattern and they make a nice gift.
Did I mention they are "easy" and portable, you can take and work on them anywhere.
For that reason, all most of my friends and family own a hand knitted hat.
I still have a few people on my "they don't have a hat list",
and a new friend who needs one!
I knitted this hat last week, it took 5 evenings and maybe a few car rides.
A Cider Press Hat
Soft - warm Alpaca Yarn
for someone I've known a really long time...
I want to be the person who keeps her warm durning the winter.
I purchased this yarn at Arrow Acres Farm
It's Farm Yarn
Made from a blend of Smoke Ring, Shooshi & Mr. Bates
I love this farm, you can visit with these Alpaca on the farm,
then make a nice hat with their fiber.
And one other happy p.s. about this farm, this is where Ms. Leanne taught me how to knit.

What a wonderful memory to have leaning to knit there.
ReplyDelete"I want to be the person who keeps her warm during the winter." That is a wonderful and loving thing to do, Debbie. Your hats are treasures to all who get one.
ReplyDeleteI feel the exact same way about hats. Love to knit them, despise wearing them. And, I too have a local alpaca farm that allows you to hang out with the alpacas then purchase their fiber. It's so much fun to knit with yarn when you know who 'donated' it.
ReplyDeleteA very special place indeed!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this hat, Debbie!
ReplyDeleteI don't like hats on me either, but sometimes around here in winter, it is a definite necessity.
Happy day to you, my friend.
xo.
Hello Debbie, I do not like wearing hats either. Your knitted hat is cute and I like yarn color. Happy Wednesday, enjoy your day!
