Saturday Critters ~ 145 ~

While we were in Canada, we visited a
with over 2000 colorful, tropical, free flying butterflies.
Seeing most of these butterflies for the first time,
I learned that once a butterfly leaves it's pupae and takes flight,
their life span is only two weeks.
The Monarch Butterfly lives a little longer,
2 - 6 weeks and will migrate south, as far as Mexico City, for winter.

I took a lot of pictures, I am going to share half today.
I purchased an identification book, but not all of the butterflies were in it.

  3. The butterflies are just beautiful. I'd love to visit a butterfly conservatory. There used to be one on Belle Isle in Detroit. They always made sure the outside door was shut very quickly.

  4. What a delightful place to visit. I have only been in one butterfly garden and it was small. And... I wasn't into picture making then. So, I need to go back!
