I am a weird knitter...really, I am.
When I find something I enjoy knitting, I knit it in multiples.
Each time the knitting gets more comfortable, more familiar and I like that.
It becomes mindless knitting, that I can do anywhere.
I am the same way with clothes.
If I find a pair of pants I like and they fit, I'll buy five pair.
So...if you follow my blog you know I have been knitting
Honey Cowls
This is my latest conquest which came off the needles a few days ago.
I love the color and I adore this yarn.

An up-close look at the beautiful way these stitches come together.
This was my third cowl, casting on 110 stitches,
and I made one cowl casting on 220 stitches.
I feel 110 stitches is slightly tight but 220 is too big.
The bigger one should really be doubled to achieve the right look.

Four Honey Cowls in the books, I have moved on to a new project.
I will share my new piece next Wednesday,
when it is a little further along.
I have quite a few nieces and I think these will make lovely Christmas gifts!!
I am joining Ginny at Small Things

ReplyDeleteYour nieces will be stoked, I assure you. I am already envious! I also buy the same thing over and over once I know it works, so you aren't weird (unless I am weird too...possible?...no!). Xoxo zz

These are terrific, I am with you, if I find a pattern I like I tend to do many of that pattern for gifts. I do love that shade of green, my favorite of them all :) Can't wait to see what you are up to next!
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You did an awesome job on all of them. They should be called the Goldilocks cowls. Some too tight, some too big, some JUST RIGHT. What are you up to next? Can't wait to see what you're knitting, I MISS YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteDebbie your knitting is just so pretty! Such a neat skill to have! And you can give such nice gifts
ReplyDeleteI may have to try that cowl for a Christmas. It seems to be pretty straight-forward. I love the colors of yarns that you used.
ReplyDeleteYou accomplish so much, and I love the colors! Wish I had your talent, and NO even lessons wouldn't help me. LOL
ReplyDeleteI once knitted an afghan that ended up about 20 feet long; I had no idea how that happened. :)
xoxo
I really like your colour choices, and I really like the 'props' you use when you photograph your work.
