A Visit from a Swallowtail...



I was outside watering on August 22nd and was so surprised 
to find this beautiful Swallowtail Butterfly
spending time in my vinca garden!

    It's a beauty for sure. The only butterflies I've seen this summer fly by so quickly I never had time to get the camera to take a picture. Lucky you.

    Just lovely! I just learned that swallowtails love citrus trees. I have a very small lemon tree in a pot that will have to be over-wintered inside, but it's healthy and even bloomed some in the spring. I can't wait to see if I get fruit next year! And I would love it if the swallowtails came to visit!
