Proud Momma...

I took these pictures back on June 17th of this year.
 Not the best quality,
but a very happy encounter for me.

Mom was very proud and happy to show off her babies.

I stopped by the lake many times after this day...
and I never saw these little ones again.

Nature can be cruel but oh so beautiful!!

  4. oh my word - that sweet little yellow fluff ball! I've never seen one that pale! Just love these - so nice to be reminded that the cycle of life will continue...and the coming freeze will lead to the thaw that will lead to more babies!!

  17. Awwww....they are adorable! Maybe she moved them??? Gosh I hope so.

I once saw a mom and a bunch of babies trying to cross some very busy traffic. I am still scarred after witnessing all those little balls of fluff being smooshed by a semi. Stupid mother duck. :(
