On one of the many gloomy, rainy day's we've been having
here at the Jersey Shore,
here at the Jersey Shore,
I was so excited to spot the Eastern Kingbird, way up high in this tree.
As I photographed this bird, I had no idea what it was...
I just knew that it was a first for me!!
After a quick flip through my bird books,
I learned that this bird is very common in these parts,
but I have never seen one.
I learned that this bird is very common in these parts,
but I have never seen one.
It is very distinctive in flight, with it's whitey, white "undercarriage",
and the conspicuous white tip on its gray/black tail.
Isn't it so exciting to see a bird for the first time?
Even when it's a kind of common bird!!

ReplyDeleteThanks Debbie I have had two of them sitting on my fence in the field for weeks and wondered what they were. Yes it is nice to see new birds. Great shots. Hug B

You always capture the best pictures of these different birds. I am so impressed with all of the different kind. For some reason I don't see a lot of birds although we do have a cute family of ducks that I will be posting in the near future.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
