Bathing Beauties!!

I know, I know....what a cliche' title.
You must be thinking, couldn't she do better then that!!
Well, I tried but my brain started to hurt.

These two Mourning Doves were adorable, taking a bath together.

Shading each other...

big splash,

little splash,

fluffing out,

rear view,

eyes closed,

drying out,

getting ready for lift off...

a quick glance back before flying off!!

These pictures are not cropped,
they were taken through the glass window in my kitchen.

  4. They are gorgeous!

    Now I have to tell you my mourning dove story ... I was probably 14, camping with my parents in Idaho. The mourning doves were calling across the lake in the morning ... my parents had been having a tiff. Dad heard the mourning doves, and tried to change the subject by asking mom "I wonder why they're mourning". Mom, in a tight voice snarled back "Probably because they mate for LIFE"!

    It's been a long time since then, and mom and Dad don't remember. But I do, and always will - with a smile!!! :=}
