This tree is next to the home office window.
I opened the window, hung out just a little
and he stayed and posed for me.
I used my new 300 mm lens, I think these should be a little crisper.
I love his little brown under carriage peaking out here!!
He switched branches and I was able to capture this image.
I was almost too close but I loved that he
was not afraid to get closer to me.

Is a cat bird, also called a mocking bird?

Lovely, lovely shots. I like your new lens. But it takes the eye and you have it. :) As I have said before, Any one can take pictures, but real photography comes from the heart. Your heart is just beautiful.

ReplyDeleteDebbie, what wonderful photographs. We frequently will have a bird fly into a classroom. Some brave soul (usually me) shuts themselves in with the bird and tries to open the windows. It usually works. So there is your solution if a bird does fly in through your window. Oh, it might take me awhile to get there:) Bonnie
ReplyDeleteSo amazing! You can see his little beak curve down at the end - pretty cool! and you're right about the brown feathers peak-a-booing out from underneath...we have a few rays of sunshine here - as of 10 minutes ago! I do hope we have a nice day tomorrow, it feels needed up here!

ReplyDeleteWe did have a bird fly in the house once. My son was able to cup it in his hand and take it back outside. (WHEW!) That's what happens when they build nests in the wreath on my front door, and fly in when the door is opened!

ReplyDeleteOh yes! What wonderful pictures of the catbird. To answer the first commenter's question, it is not the same as a mockingbird. It actually makes a sound like a cat. He's beautiful, and I love that he let you get so close!
