I wish I had one of those. I like those kind of birds, they aren't really a duck are they? it seems I read that somewhere. You got really nice shots of him.
i miss having muscovies here. (when thelma & louise arrived, they eliminated them.) i had a favorite named Rueben - a big brown guy that would come greet me and let me pet him. sigh...
I am not fond of ducks. They scare me. They will take a quick nip at you. I guess I have seen too many t.v. programs where this has happened. Your photos are beautiful. TFS
You're an animal whisperer, we all know that! Great shots ~ charactered ol' guy...kind of a "mutt" ... I see a little turkey, a little duck and a bit of sea gull in him!
Ya....in that last photo I thnk he's saying "OK then, WHERE is the food???"
ReplyDeleteWOW, Debbie! He did let you get close. I think he or she is cute. Fantastic photos.
ReplyDeleteYou must have a gentle spirit for him to let you get this close....Great shots...next time I think I would take some food..hahahah
ReplyDeleteUmmm..yea, I pretty much think he's an ugly ducking. He looks like part turkey with very short legs to me. ha! Great shots though. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree! And I think she's beautiful in appearance AND personality. Another sweet post.

ReplyDeleteI saw one of these when I was visiting my Mom in Oklahoma last summer. I think he's pretty cool...beauty is in the eye of the beholder :)
ReplyDeleteDebbie, Everything...everyone is beautiful to someone. Love that face. Bonnie

ReplyDeleteYou know the saying... so ugly he's cute. I think he is adorable :)
ReplyDeleteI don't see one single ugly thing about that guy. I think he's just too adorable.
ReplyDeleteDo you know I saw a bird sitting on my rocking chair outside this morning and immediately thought of you. How funny is that?
He definately isn't the prettiest but he does look very cute and he did let you get close for some wonderful pictures.

I didn't even want it, and Blogger still installed it, in my blog comments. And now, many of my Dear Readers can't comment in my blog.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, please read at the top of my Sidebar. And click on the link, I give there.
Please and thank you!

Maybe he was expecting the food for payment for the photo shoot?
ReplyDeleteI do agree with Jill that he looks turky-ish, like a ducurkey!
I think they are cool looking. Nice bunch of shots of this curious duck!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots Debbie ... and I can see his beauty!
ReplyDeleteThey really are cool ducks. Great pictures!
ReplyDeleteI can't see any "kinda cute" in all that ugliness, but at least he has a good personality...
ReplyDeleteReminds me of a warty old man!
ReplyDeleteBoy are they ugly! Where did you see it? I've never seen one...kind of a good thing!!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely photos. No really, I think the duck is awesome. I've never seen one like that before.
