And because I did that, I decided to share some "Fun Facts" about summer.
Who doesn't love ice cream, especially in the summer?
Whether its a cone at your favorite ice cream shop, or a massive tub in the freezer at home,
it is usually a part of your summer diet!
One favorite snack in the summer is watermelon...did you know it is a vegetable?
It is...
this is due to the unique way it is planted and the way it grows...it is a close relative to squash.
People argue this point, and I get it, but nonetheless, wouldn't it be great to be eating watermelon and know you are getting your veggies for the day.
Next time you decide to complain about the heat during the summer,...
on July 10th 1913, the temperatures reached a scorching 134 degrees in California.
The longest day of the year, is the same as the shortest.
Thunderstorms are more common in the summer and we all know I love a good thunderstorm.
We have the most sunlight in summer, and the best fireworks.
My favorite thing about summer is the fresh produce and all the colorful flowers.

thanks so much Virginia, for following me all this time and for leaving me a comment!!
DeleteI love all seasons and truly try not to rush them. I do have things about each season (yes, even the well loved Spring and Fall) that I don't care for but there also some amazing things like you pointed out about summer about each season.
ReplyDeleteOh, those hydrangeas are beautiful.
DeleteAll seasons have there pro's and cons ... but my favourite two are Autumn and Spring.
ReplyDeleteThose hydrangeas are lovely.
All the best Jan
We are huge fans of two of summer's delights -- watermelon and ice cream and also fresh cherries as this is peak season.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't have to be summer for me to eat ice cream. I eat a cup of it just about EVERY evening and will have mine a little bit later. :)
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI do love ice cream! Hubby loves watermelon. I love summer, just not the humidity. Your hydrangeas are lovely. Take care , have a great day!
I think I may have heard that about watermelons before but had forgotten. Love those hydrangea. They're beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYour hydrangeas are so fluffy and beautiful! I love summer--- all the pretty flowers and growing food! I DONT like the HEAT and the dang " skeeters". We are growing watermelons again, our chickens love them too on hot days
ReplyDeleteSome things get to be too much sometimes, but yes there is good things about summer, even when it is crazy HOT. We have had a couple days break from the heat and will go back to the bad stuff starting Sunday through Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful hydrangeas and interesting facts about summer. I didn't know watermelon was a vegetable. My son and daughter-in-law are in California right now. They stepped off the plane and said it's muggy just like a Virginia summer. I'm going to have to tell them about this 134 degrees. They dodged that. It was only 78 today.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo, Debbie. I feel blessed to live in Montreal, Canada and to enjoy four seasons 🙏 The heat 🥵 and humidity with the wildfires makes summer difficult.
ReplyDeleteMy ideal temperatures in summer are the 60s and 70s Fahrenheit.
