The Mute Swans at Lake of the Lilies will be migrating soon,
flying off to where-ever they go to spend the winter.
I always enjoy seeing them at the lake, and miss them while they are gone.
Mute Swans are thought to be very intelligent, capable of remembering people and places throughout their lives...they remember people who have treated them well and those that have treated them poorly.
They mate for life and there have been times when I felt like they remembered me.
The entrance is maintained by the Point Pleasant Beautification Committee.
They were strolling about, not afraid to show off their wings.
I stayed with them for some time....
Trying to capture an image of two swans making the perfect heart.
I was getting closer, but I never actually got the photograph I was hoping for.
I think they were trying, unfortunately, we all fell short!
These were the best I could get, still time well spent with the beautiful Mute Swans.
I love their story and felt the affection between these two!

What magnificent birds. The two swans shaping their necks into a heart is a magical shot!
ReplyDeleteThey surely are beautiful, it will be great when you get that shot :) I was just thinking how the hummingbirds will soon be leaving here and I got so sad, I have 3 that constantly hang out and they are so fun to watch :)
