Erin...Stirs Things Up

It was all anyone could talk about...
Hurricane Erin
Local weather reports said the storm would not impact our weather, no direct hit to land was predicted.
It was widely reported that the storm would impact the coastal areas along its path.
Erin delivered tropical storm conditions to our oceans, heavy surf, rip currents and flooding
up and down the Jersey Shore.

It never rained on Thursday, the sky was consumed with clouds.
After dinner we took a drive to look at our local beaches and to see how they were holding up.

- the ocean is angry -

- 14 foot waves -

- and high wind -

The Red Flags are flying at all the beaches.
No swimming, no surfing, all entrances to the beaches were gated and locked.

It was so windy and cold but we enjoyed watching the waves and talking with the locals.

This was the view as we drove home...

Erin has moved on and the sun is shining today.

  2. Great pictures as always. It is just glancing our coasts up here as it is moving further away.

  3. I wondered what was happening in your neck of the woods -- great pictures I am glad you were able to take them and that where you live the storm was more scenic than tragic. (I hope to come back to blogging soon, trying to work my way back by visiting my favorite blogging people as an incentive! Thanks for being here).

  4. I am so glad that it has passed and you are safe. The storm photos are just amazing. You even managed capture a hint of peach color in the first photo.

  5. Our winds weren’t higher than we’ve had all summer. I pray the remainder of hurricane season is the same for both of us, Debbie,

  7. You were able to take and share some good photographs.
Storms, hurricanes etc. can be quite scary and you never know what damage they may cause.

    All the best Jan

  8. I saw some video on the news of all the big waves, you got some great pics of it, really churning up that sand. Beautiful sunset after!

  9. You took great photos of the waves. There is a lot of beauty in them but their destructive power is another matter. Hope all is well up there. I haven't had any updates.

  10. Hi Debbie, thank you so much for your visit and kind comment 😊 on my blog. I saw it and published it. Not sure if you did make an earlier comment but I only saw the one, dear friend. I only post on Mondays and Thursdays.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend 💗

  11. And Okies go out and look at the tornado too. Then decide if they should take shelter. Yep, that's a cranky sea. What are the little white posts on the beach? A place to tie down an umbrella usually? Linda in Kansas

  12. That is an angry sea for sure and not a scene we will see in Nashua, NH, but as NJ natives we always appreciate seeing our home state through your lens, Debbie.
