The Red Winged Blackbird is a really pretty bird,
if you know what you are listening for, you will hear it before you see it.
The red and yellow on the wings is brilliant.
This looks to be a male, he was successful in capturing a bug.

We have a pair of Redwings that have nested nearby so we hear them all the time but as you say, we don't see them a lot.

ReplyDeleteWe see a lot of the blackbird around here but I am bummed I haven't seen a woodpecker in quite some time, they use to visit my suet but haven't in quite some time :(
